Salima Nanyanzi

Salima Nanyanzi is a Public Health Specialist from Uganda and a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research at the University of Oxford.

She holds a First-Class Honors’ degree in Community Health from Uganda Christian University and a Master of Medical Science with a major in Global Health, at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden where she was a recipient of the prestigious Swedish Institute Students’ Scholarship. She has additional training in Implementation Science from the University of Washington.

She has assumed roles with increasing responsibilities at the Infectious Diseases Institute(IDI) in Uganda with an established record in planning and implementing initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes, particularly in HIV/TB care. Committed to advancing health through research, leadership, and strategic partnerships, her current role focuses on Quality Improvement, supporting technical teams and collaborating with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, to enhance the quality of care and ensure compliance to healthcare standards.

Her goal is to make contributions towards developing innovative, research-driven solutions that address programmatic challenges through Implementation Research, aiming to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and health practice in resource-limited settings.
