
Nana Achiaa
Nana Achiaa is a civil engineer from Ghana, currently pursuing an MSc in Water Science, Policy, and Management at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Linacre College.
Before joining Oxford, Nana worked with Ghana Water Company Limited, where she applied her analytical skills to address various water challenges in Ghana. Her commitment extends beyond her technical expertise in water management; she is passionate about empowering young women and girls. Nana leads the GO-Girl club, which promotes education for girls in rural communities, and serves as the STEM Ambassador Lead for She Code Africa’s Greater Accra Chapter, advocating for increased female participation in STEM through mentorship and outreach programs.
Nana earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with first-class honours from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2022, where she was an active peer tutor and a member of the Women-In-Engineering (WINE) Society.
After completing her master’s degree, Nana plans to focus on advancing equitable access to clean water in Sub-Saharan Africa. She envisions establishing international water agencies to develop science-based solutions and leveraging artificial intelligence to optimise water management strategies for societal impact.
