Marieme Mbacke Gueye

Marieme Mbacke Gueye is pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation as an AfOx Scholar and a member of Linacre College. 

With five years of experience as a consultant and entrepreneur, Marieme’s expertise includes strategy and policy consulting across various sectors such as public policy, education, inclusive business growth, health, digital transformation, climate change, and gender inclusion. She has worked with prominent organizations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the African Union, ECOWAS, and WHO, providing consulting services to public, private, and philanthropic sectors.

Prior to joining Oxford, Marieme was seconded to COP28 as an Education Specialist, where she promoted climate literacy and advocated for green job skills in education. She played a key role in securing a climate education declaration, which gained the endorsement of 40 nations. In her role as a Consultant at Dalberg Advisors, Marieme focused on strategy design and policy evaluation for organizations like ECOWAS and the Government of Senegal.

Marieme is also the founder of HI-WERR, a social enterprise aimed at improving the mental health of girls and women in Sub-Saharan Africa through education.

After completing her studies at Oxford, Marieme plans to strengthen the education and mental health sectors across Africa by working with governments to integrate mental health into education systems. She aspires to be a global advocate for impactful change.
