Louis Mnyema Ng'oma

Louis Mnyema Ng'oma, a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar from Malawi, is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research at the University of Oxford via distance learning.

Louis has a strong academic background, with a Master of Science in Health Care Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Health Systems Management, and a Nursing and Midwifery Technician Diploma. Over his 19-year career, he has held both clinical and project management roles, including six years in hospital settings and over a decade managing donor-funded projects for NGOs and community-based health research initiatives.

Currently, Louis is Project Coordinator for the Malawi Network of Aids Services Organization (MANASO), where he leads health programs across six districts. His expertise in program management, financial oversight, and strategic development has been instrumental in advancing MANASO’s mission. Additionally, Louis volunteers as Country Coordinator for The Global Health Network Malawi, building research capacity among health workers and strengthening national research networks. Recently, he conducted a research training workshop for 65 nurses and midwives in Malawi, funded by Global Health Nurses.

On completing his postgraduate studies, Louis plans to enhance research capacity among Malawian health workers and establish a resilient research network in collaboration with organisations such as TGHN and the Ministry of Health. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys football, travel, music, farming, and engaging with his community.
