
Kennedy Kitheka
Kennedy Kitheka is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx scholar from Kenya pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Said Business School, University of Oxford, and is a member of St. Catherines College.
Kennedy has over ten years of experience launching and building innovative ventures in education and fintech across South Africa, Egypt, Tanzania, and Southeast Asia, with a focus on making an impact.
He co-founded Funda, an Ed-tech startup. After five years of growing Funda and making strides in online learning management systems at some of the largest higher education institutions on the continent, he joined Capria, a Seattle-based VC fund. He then worked as a VP at Seedstars, a Swiss venture builder and VC fund active in 80+ emerging markets. Most recently, he was a portfolio strategist at the UNICEF Innovation Fund, working with impactful ventures using frontier technologies to impact vulnerable children across the globe.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree, specialising in finance and economics, from the University of Cape Town.
Kennedy's post-Oxford goal is to make a significant contribution towards catalysing economic development in Africa.
