
Joanna Oluwatosin Abodunrin
Joanna Oluwatosin Abodunrin is currently pursuing an MSc in Law and Finance at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Christ Church.
Before joining Oxford, Joanna gained professional experience at ALN | Nigeria, Aluko & Oyebode, where she worked on domestic and international transactions.
Joanna has a distinguished academic record, having achieved double first-class honours from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU Zaria) and the Nigerian Law School. In 2021, she graduated as the best student from the Faculty of Law at ABU Zaria, earning the highest CGPA in the faculty’s history and becoming the first female first-class graduate. Her academic excellence has been recognised with several awards, including the Director General’s Prize at the Nigerian Law School, the Bankole Aluko Memorial Scholarship, and the Chinese Embassy Scholarship. Joanna is also a dedicated volunteer, contributing to community development through initiatives such as the United Nations Academic Impact/Millennium Fellowship and the Clinton Global Initiative University.
After completing her MSc, she aims to become a thought leader in development finance in Africa, focusing on addressing issues such as inflation, debt, and poverty to improve financial outcomes for developing countries.
