Intissar Eddajraoui

Intissar Eddajraoui is a scholar from Morocco, focusing on North African identity in politics and international relations. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Modern Middle Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Oxford. Intissar is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Mansfield College.

In 2023, Intissar graduated as valedictorian from Al Akhawayn University with a bachelor's degree in international studies. She gained practical experience during an internship at the Australian Embassy in Rabat, where she worked on direct aid and public diplomacy, enhancing her understanding of diplomacy. Her undergraduate dissertation, which won the Best Capstone in International Studies Award, examined the evolution of Moroccan identity through social biographies.

Her current research focuses on the development of Moroccan national identity since independence and its impact on the country’s international standing and foreign policy.

After completing her studies at Oxford, Intissar aims to contribute to foreign policy analysis in the region. She advocates for an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach to international relations, with a particular focus on cultural identities and oral histories. She also plans to establish a youth-focused think tank in Morocco, empowering young researchers and reshaping undergraduate research in policy analysis.
