
Ibiwunmi Oluokun
Ibiwunmi Oluokun is a public health physician and healthcare manager with over 15 years of experience in Nigeria's primary healthcare sector. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. Ibiwunmi is a Mastercard AfOx Scholar and a member of University College.
Before coming to Oxford, Ibiwunmi served as Medical Officer of Health with the Lagos State Primary Healthcare Board, where she led teams in implementing public health policies at the local level and managed several healthcare facilities. Under her leadership, two of these facilities received awards for quality improvement. Ibiwunmi holds a medical degree from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Public Health from Lagos State University. She also earned an MSc in International Healthcare Management (Distinction) from the University of Essex, where her dissertation on maternal health services in Nigeria received recognition.
Her interests include primary healthcare, universal health coverage, and health systems strengthening. Ibiwunmi plans to pursue a PhD in Primary Health Care, focusing on policy implementation at sub-national levels in Nigeria. She aims to continue advancing her leadership roles in healthcare delivery across Africa.
