Prior to attending Oxford, Eslam worked as an International Representation Officer at the Federal Ministry of Health in Khartoum. Her focus was on ensuring that Sudan was well-represented in the global health arena. She also acquired training at the Primary Healthcare Directorate, where she worked on the Expanded Program for Immunization. She provided strategic and technical support to the COVAX global movement to increase vaccination reach in Sudan.

Eslam earned a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Khartoum. As a student, she proactively engaged in social and organisational work to promote oral health and prevent oral diseases in her community and the decentralised areas of Sudan. She focused on delivering emergency and elective dental treatment to rural areas. Additionally, she organised campaigns aimed at increasing the health literacy of these communities to eradicate preventable diseases.

Eslam aims to advocate for equitable and well-resourced health services in Sudan and other developing countries, with a particular focus on encouraging youth involvement in healthcare. Upon completing her studies, Eslam intends on building a healthier and more equitable healthcare system in Sudan.
