
Bok John Chol
Bok John Chol is a medical doctor who graduated from Moi University Medical School in Kenya. He attended primary school at Kakuma Refugee Camp as a refugee. Bok is studying for an MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine at Linacre College, University of Oxford.
Prior to coming to Oxford, he worked as a medical officer in Meru town in Kenya. After his studies, Bok aims to strengthen his leadership skills and capacity to explore innovative ways of dealing with health challenges in African countries.
His goal is to establish a surveillance and disease control centre in South Sudan for the early detection, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of tropical diseases in the region. Bok hopes to return to South Sudan, where he will give back to his community through leadership, mentorship and research. His ultimate ambition is to alleviate some of the most significant health challenges facing his local community and the broader Sub-Saharan African region.
