Anita Amponsa

Anita holds a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. She is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar at Reuben College studying for the Masters in International Health and Tropical Medicine.

Anita is a Quantity Surveyor with ten years of experience in Ghana's public and donor-funded development infrastructure projects. These projects include hospitals, water and sanitation, schools, bridges and mass housing. Before coming to Oxford, she worked on the Ghana Government's Health Sector flagship project (AGENDA 111) to build 111 hospitals at the district level to improve healthcare delivery in the country.

Anita aspires to a career in health policy, particularly concerning development in resource-limited contexts. Her ambition is to explore the intersection of infrastructural development and the health of communities. She hopes to apply the knowledge and experience gained in her Master's Programme to influence policy to ensure that infrastructure projects are designed and executed to maximise the benefits to the health and well-being of communities.
