Aishat Oladipo

Aishat Oladipo is a medical doctor and researcher pursuing an MSc in Genomic Medicine at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine,University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Balliol College.

Before joining Oxford, Aishat worked as a medical doctor, providing primary and emergency care across various healthcare facilities. Additionally, she served as a research writer at a leading cancer centre in Nigeria, where she published scientific articles and presented research on disparities in cancer care. Her work highlights the challenges of delivering personalised medicine in resource-limited settings. Aishat is also an active volunteer, offering medical outreach services to underserved communities through various NGOs.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and her research interests include global oncology, epidemiology, medical education, and genomics.

At Oxford, Aishat aims to expand her expertise in genomic medicine, focusing on personalised patient care. Following her studies, she plans to enhance the diversity of genomic data and tackle health disparities in underrepresented communities. Her goal is to translate scientific advancements into equitable healthcare outcomes for genetically diverse African and Black populations.
