Adede Nyodero

Adede Nyodero is a Genomic Scientist from Kenya, currently pursuing an MSc in Genomic Medicine at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Hertford College. Adede is dedicated to improving the quality of scientific research in Africa.

She graduated with first-class honours in Biotechnology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. Before joining Oxford, Adede worked as a scientist at The Africa Genomics Centre and Consultancy Limited, where she specialized in genomic research. During the global pandemic, she played a key role in genomic surveillance and contributed to the genetic analysis of emerging variants. Additionally, Adede worked as a molecular biologist at Nextgen Molecular Lab, focusing on understanding the molecular basis of prevalent diseases in Kenya.

After completing her studies, Adede plans to concentrate on capacity building and mentorship, aiming to inspire African researchers to advance their skills and enhance research quality across the continent. She envisions becoming a global health leader, using evidence-based research to address pressing healthcare challenges and improve health outcomes worldwide.
