Ifeoluwa Oduguwa

Ifeoluwa Oduguwa is a medical doctor with a strong interest in neuroscience, genomics research, and climate change advocacy. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Clinical and Therapeutic Neuroscience at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford. He is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of St Cross College.

Ifeoluwa is passionate about understanding the mechanisms behind neurological and psychiatric conditions and exploring genomics to develop more effective therapies. His research experience includes working as a research assistant at the Population Genomics Laboratory of the Nigerian Institute for Medical Research. He has presented at the International Association for Health Professions Education (AMEE) conference on topics such as student engagement in curriculum development and climate change education in medical training. Additionally, he authored an e-learning material on ‘Health Systems and the Environment’ for the Medical Student Alliance for Global Education (MeSAGE).

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he was awarded the Dr Abib Olamitoye Prize for Best Graduating Student in Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

After completing his MSc, Ifeoluwa plans to become a physician-scientist, focusing on translating scientific advances into improved treatments for patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders.
